Here’s the catch, newspapers and magazines have left reporters out on the street while trying to figure out how to become profitable. The old model of newsgathering won’t cut it in the new economy with new ways of advertising. Companies will have to respond to their customers in ways like never before. As long as the content is original and isn’t being passed on from one AP source to another, then news organizations will survive, just not in their current forms and with the current skill sets they keep on the payrolls.
